Credit FAQ’s

Here are the most commonly asked questions we receive for our accredited events.

What will you receive from Nutritional Courses (NC)?

After the event has been submitted to the accredited body, we (NC) will send you a Thank-You Letter and Receipt. If you are an acupuncturist, you will receive a certificate of attendance for NCCAOM credits. We do not send transcripts as these are provided by the accrediting institution (such as NYCC, TCC or the ICS).

Please Note: During our peak season, it may take us 2-3 weeks to process these materials. Please be patient.

What is a Credit Hour Identification (CHI) Code?

Forty hours of Board approved nutritional credits are required of Chiropractors practicing in the State of Wisconsin. The accrediting institution (College or Association) works directly with the Wisconsin Professional Licensing Board to receive a CHI Code for each event.

Doctors seeking approved courses taken in the current biennium to satisfy the requirements of a previous biennium, may not be applied to any other renewal period.

As soon as we receive the CHI Code, we will post it here. It has been common to receive the identification number days after the event, especially during the biennium, so please be patient.

Please Note: The State of Illinois currently does not require a CHI Code.

What entities can get CMEs from events approved by the ICS?

MDs, DOs, and DCs are entitled to receive hours approved by the Illinois Chiropractic Society in Illinois. This is because the Illinois Medical Practice Act of 1987 states “(a) Any physician licensed under this Act, the Illinois State Medical Society, the Illinois Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons, the Illinois Chiropractic Society, the Illinois Prairie State Chiropractic Association, or any component societies of any of these 4 groups, and any other person, may report to the Disciplinary Board any information the physician, association, society, or person may have that appears to show that a physician is or may be in violation of any of the provisions of Section 22 of this Act.”

The legislation can be found here: http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ilcs/ilcs3.asp?ActID=1309&ChapterID=24.

Specifically, the portion explaining approving entities for continuing medical education can be found in the following section: (225 ILCS 60/24) (from Ch. 111, par. 4400-24)…

How can I receive my transcript from NYCC?

Once we submit the event information that includes your License Number Documents and sign-in/sign-out forms, you will be emailed a transcript from NYCC if it has approved the program. IL does NOT require an approval code (CHI#).

Certificates of Completion, or “transcripts” are made available after college sponsored education seminars and most co-sponsored seminars. These transcripts are provided at no charge. NYCC complies with all State Boards that require notification be sent directly from the college. The transcript reflects the credits earned by your attendance. The transcript is signed by The Dean of Postgraduate Department.

Transcripts can be resent to you by NYCC by calling the Post-Grad department by calling (800) 434-3955 or using the online form: https://www.nyccpostgrad.com/pages/transcript. Replacement wall certificates (for applicable programs only) are $15.00.

Please Note: Be consistent with your email and name (do not use nicknames) that you use to register for our events. If you change your email or are being inconsistent with it, your hours may not reflect your attended events. Contact TCC to update your email address if you are not receiving your transcript.
